Alexander Scourby (8 Audio Bible products )   listen

Alexander Scourby was born in Brooklyn, New York. He studied journalism briefly before taking up acting. He is best remembered for being the first to narrate the King James Bible for the blind; it was completed in 1944. Scourby recorded over 500 different books during his lifetime; he considered the KJV Bible to be his most important work.

He graduated from college with a BA in Radio and Television, and planned to become a news announcer. In 1976 he was approached about narrating the New Testament on cassette. He has international reputation as a narrator; receiving many awards including an Emmy, the New York Film Critics Award, the National Silver Microphone Award and the Army Commendation Award.

Charles Taylor was born on a farm in Iowa in 1937 where he was raised by God fearing parents and has lived in the Mid-West most of his life. He and his family worked in Korea for the Christian Reformed World Relief Committee, while there he also narrated a daily English-language devotional on a TEAM Mission radio station. Mr. Taylor has done radio and television commercials and a book on tape “A Shepherd Looks at the 23rd Psalms”. In the 1980s he recorded the NIV translation of the Bible for Zondervan Publishing. He presently narrates a monthly news magazine for the sight-impaired.

Max McLean is President of Fellowship for the Performing Arts incorporated in 1991 as a means to support his work of expressing faith through the dramatic arts.
